8-18-08 Ted & Hummingbirds
It is raining, the temp outside is 57, Wilma & Tank are asleep, a good time to write. Wilma, Tank & I were going to take the 4-wheeler out for the first time today, but as I said it is raining
We put out a feeder for the Hummingbirds Friday & we have been visited by a lot of birds, I have a picture of four at one time. As you know the Hummers are very protected of their space, which makes for a lot of fun to watch. We did have one that flew into the window (Wilma had a vase of red flowers on the table), it sat on the railing for a while then flew off.
We run into Ted when we first got here for training. He was in maintenance therefore he & I worked a lot together in the beginning, Ted was good company for me while Wilma was in the hospital. Working side by side we talked quite a bit, he told me of his dreams of what he would like to do after finishing college, his major is civil engineering. I have no doubt he can fulfill his dreams as long as he keep them & works hard & does the steps one at a time to get there. We also played 42, dominoes, & chess. Ted came over to the trailer some. Wilma fixed pancakes for us (Ted, Wilma & I) a few times. When Ted left he brought over what grocery's he was not going to use. Before he left he brought over his girlfriend (Melonie) & his dad, we were able to watch the Cowboys & Broncos play (at Brian Head). One of the things that is nice about what we did (volunteering) is you make good friends which should last a lifetime, (no ones has to many friends).
I am a great believer in the fact when your dreams die, a large part of you die, so never let your dreams die, hang on to them, even thou they may look impossible, you can never tell. A man without a dream is a man without hope & a man without hope is a dead man.
