New York to Maryland

New York & Maryland

This Blog is backward or finish to start. I am old so spelling and wording does not count; Wilma wrote some of it and I am thankful & hers will be right.

We went to Linda & Johns in New Rochell & Linda took us into New York City. They treated us will & we had a great time. We then went to Priscilla & Bills & they also treated us great. A big thanks to all of you. A special thanks to Buddy who let Margo go with us. We were gone for 28 days. There are many pictures & I hope you enjoy them as much as we enjoyed taking them.Remember if life was a book and you did not travel you would only read one page

New York City, New York

New York, New York

We saw some very nice farms, & vineyard in upper New York, stopped and bought some apples & apple butter. Best I have had. I did not pull the trailer into New York City, I did not even drive past New Rochelle, we road the train into the city, then walked around for about five hours. The women liked the city, I thought it was dirty and had too many people, and it was on a Sunday. I am glad I went now I have been two times, and that is enough

New York City

September 27, 2007
The visit to Niagara Falls was terrific. The falls were awesome. We went on a guided tour and heard the history of the area. We went on the Maid of the Mist, a boat which went close to and into the mist of both the American and the Canadian Falls. We then doned a raincoat and walked into some of the Falls; they no longer walk behind the falls. We didn’t bring our passports so did not cross to the Canadian side. We did see the buildings on the Canadian side. There was quite a bit of rain while we were there

From St Louis

September 24, 2007

We found the Casino Queen campground which was 8 minutes away from the Edward Jones Dome where the St Louis Rams play football. Yes, this is where the Joyce Meyers Women’s Conference was held. There were about 27,000 women attending the conference so we only used about a third of the dome. We picked up our sister Priscilla at the St Louis airport on Thursday morning. T.D. Jakes was the speaker on Thursday night. We had two services on Friday and two on Saturday. We were tired and I know Joyce was tired as well. We sat in the rafters even though we got there two hours early each time. We had no chance for the special give aways or Tshirts that were shot out into the audience. When we decided to buy Tshirts to commemorate the conference, they were sold out. (Saturday morning, the last day, is when we made this important decision). The preliminaries were done by “Delirious” a Christian rock group from England, and the ladies went wild about them. CeCe Winans also provided special music.
We got an all day pass and rode the MetroLink Railway on Sunday. Went to the arch and at the end of the day, rode to the airport to see Priscilla off.
We have traveled all the way across Illinois and will also make it across Indiana; two states in about 6 hours. Can you believe that?We have not been able to find internet service so have not been able to update our post

9-18-07
We left San Angelo at 8:30 am after coffee with Margo & Buddy at T&C. Margo is going with us. We had dinner with Dan, Stef, & Parker, at Chili’s in McKinney. Dan & Stef picked up the ticket, THANK YOU.
We spent the nite at a Wild Life Management area north of Stringtown OK. It was free & there was almost no one there. It was across from a prison & next to a RR; Wilma says it was pristine and quiet until the trains came by, it was also free. Did I mention that it was free? That helps buy diesel. The first day was 422 miles, too many.
Second day we made 300 miles, also too many, but it gave us two days in Branson, that was good. So far we have averaged 10.1 MPG. We have been doing a pretty steady 65 to 70 for the most part.
We are at Turkey Creek CG (Hollister MO) which is 2 miles outside of Branson MO. We have FH & it is a nice park. The cost is $15.00 per day with the third one free, & you know free is good, as I am cheap.
We arrived here Sunday PM a day early; made it in two long days instead of three as planned. Sunday we went to the Branson’s Landing & had a good time, saw the water & fire that is timed with the music, it is free & should be seen. Monday we rode the Ducks that was interesting but would not do it again. Monday we also went to see Jim Stafford, he was great, would do that again. Today we are doing washing, cleaning, updating the Blog etc. We will leave early in the morning on Wed and pick up Wilma & Margo's sister, Priscilla, Thur AM in St Louis MO. So we will do some getting ready today & rest-up. I have been told we will do some shopping in Old Branson, at Branson’s Landing.

Leaving for NY Saturday 9-15-07

It is getting close to time to leave for NY. I have been having trouble sleeping the last week. My mind or what I have left has too many things to work out, or a least I think I do.
We had to redo the propane tanks (that is we cleaned them & painted them) & have them filled. Wilma had to do the lifting as the Dr. said I could not lift anything over 20 lb. for four more weeks, boy I hate that (Ha Ha).
We have put some new tires on the truck; the old ones were getting ozone cracks. We now have good tires on both the truck & trailer; I check the air in the trailer today; had the truck tires checked on Friday, also had the spare checked it was 40 lb low; not been check in a few years.
We got a prog. For the lap-top it is Delorme Street Atlas 2008 it uses a GPS we are having fun learning to use it. I think we will like it when we learn it. Boy the older we get the harder to learn.
We are going to get our meds changed to Wal-Mart also going to get 90 day supply at a time; will make it much easer when we get on the road FT.
Took Tank in for his shots this AM he did very well; he now weighs 35 lb, that boy is eating too much; wonder why? He always has to have a bite of anything I have. We will carry his med. papers with us.
We will post from our log as we travel; do not know how often we will have the net.

Getting Ready toGo Again

I took my TV & had the wheels alignment checked today & they had to realign the front end.
I was talking to the workman & he said a lot of new cars & trucks or out of align when they reach the dealerships. That will make the tires not ware as they should, also the car or truck may not handle as it should. If your tires are wearing odd you should find out why.Remember if life was a book and you do not travel you only read one page

Getting Ready toGo Again

We are getting the trailer & truck ready for out trip to NY by way of the Joyce Myers Convention on Sept. 20 thru 22. All of Wilma’s Sister & one of her nieces are going to meet us there.
Last week we had the wheels bearings on the trailer packed & the brakes checked. One wire was broken on the brakes nothing else was a miss. Sunday Wilma & I went to Radio Shack & bought a CB, (it has all the weather bands on it). A lesson can be learned from that encounter. They had two on display we looked at them & they were not what we wanted. After telling them we saw another one in a RS store in another town, the man said he could look it up on computer & order it if it was carried by RS. He then found they had two more in the back which were not on display. Needless to say one was the one we wanted. So it pays to ask.

Summary on Hawaii

Summary on Hawaii
It was a great trip, will I go again I do not think so. We have great beaches in Texas and other states I have not visited as yet, and I do not need to fly such long hours to get to one. The Beach Boys were the hi-point of our trip.
Now on Hawaii I believe everyone should see the islands if giving a chance. I was surprised to find the litter on the streets. They have a lot of parks and you see a great number of people running and enjoying them. I have never seen such large shade trees, although most were brought in form other countries. They have great building and are putting up more. It was a great trip and I am very glad I went.

We are getting ready for our next trip. So check back.
